SEO for electricians on WordPress
SEO for electricians is the work that gets an electrical contractor's site and Google profile picked when someone nearby needs a job done: a site that dials on tap, a page per job, and details matching the profile. I do it on WordPress through my local SEO services, and I'll tell you what kind of map pack your town has first.

Which two kinds of electrician map pack need opposite work?
I measured the map pack for 30 verticals in 31 Alberta towns on 8 September 2026. The median electrician #1 has 74 reviews, and that hides a split.
In five top-heavy towns one listing has 100 or more reviews while the median's under 20, and in four it isn't #1: Beaumont's #1 has 18, with 868 lower down. Aim for second place and the organic list. In five wide-open towns #1 holds 10 to 19; a clean Google profile does most of it. Calgary's electrician pack is on the technical SEO in Calgary page.
Why do electrician searches have a moment, not a season?
Electrician demand doesn't spike like roofing's. Keywords Everywhere, Canada, 26 September 2026.
The moment of need
Decided on a phone, so the header number has to dial on tap.
Homes and property managers
Commercial electrician edmonton costs C$12.01 a click, and that buyer wants a quote form. SEO in Edmonton starts with that page.
Job pages that answer yes
It won't bring much traffic. It answers "do you do EV chargers?" before they call.
Which of these is your site missing?

What does SEO for electricians fix on a contractor's WordPress site?
Local SEO for electricians, plus the technical fixes that cost you calls.
How does an electrician get into the map pack?
A Business Profile set up for the call
Primary category Electrician and as few others as Google's guidelines allow, hours identical to the site's, and a service area where the trucks go. If customers don't come to you, the guidelines say to hide the address. Google says local results rest mainly on relevance, distance and popularity. On the site, every tap-to-call is a GA4 key event, and commercial gets a quote form.
One NAP everywhere, and a review after every job
Directories, the site and the profile carry one name, address and phone. Call-tracking numbers swap in for visitors only, so listings don't drift. Send every customer Google's review link once the job's signed off, never with a discount: Google's policy bars incentives and asking only happy customers.
Only claim permits you can pull
Only a master electrician with a Safety Codes Council Certificate of Competency can pull Alberta electrical permits, homeowners aside (alis). If you hold it, it's text on the page first, then hasCredential. If you don't, the site won't hint at it.
Electrician, not generic LocalBusiness
The Electrician type carries areaServed and hours, 24/7 only if someone answers at 3 am. No aggregateRating. Google says AI Overviews need no special optimization, so the jobs you take and the towns you cover go in plain text.
What can an Alberta electrician's site put its name to?
My reading of alis and the prepaid contracting licence page, 26 September 2026. It isn't legal advice.
Checked with you before it goes live
- PEC, CME and RME: protected ECAA titles, only if you're registered
- "Master electrician", until I've seen the certificate
- Deposits on home jobs sold away from your office: a prepaid contracting licence may apply
Built into every page I write
- Permit claims only where a master electrician pulls them
- Your real number in the HTML and schema; tracking numbers swap in for visitors
- No stars on reviews you control. Google won't show them

SEO for electricians: your questions, answered
What are good SEO keywords for electricians?
Electrician SEO starts with the phone search, electrician near me, then your town, then the jobs you'd like more of.
How much does SEO for electricians cost?
It's fixed: US$149 for the audit, US$999 with fixes, or US$299 or US$750 a month. If you've got several locations, you'll get a quote on Upwork.
How long does SEO take for an electrician?
A changed page needs a recrawl, and Google says crawling can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. The closest trade I've published, a fireplace site, averaged position 6.1 on mobile in the 28 days to 12 September, from 728 impressions in all. That's a small sample, not a promise: no one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google.
How do I advertise my electrical business online?
A complete Google profile, a site that dials on tap, and a page per job you want more of. Ads and directories come after.
Should an electrician run Google Ads or do SEO?
Ads buy today's call. At C$12.01 a click for commercial electrician edmonton, 100 ad clicks cost C$1,201; a page that earns those clicks doesn't bill per click, so a lot of electrician marketing runs both.
Can I call myself a master electrician on my website?
Only with the Safety Codes Council's master electrician Certificate of Competency. PEC, CME and RME also need ECAA registration. It isn't legal advice.
