Real estate SEO services on WordPress
My real estate SEO services fix the parts of an agent's WordPress site that stop it ranking for agent-plus-town searches: duplicate IDX pages, expired listings left live, cloned neighbourhood pages and a brokerage name RECA wants on every page. Portals own listing searches, so I don't chase them. I work alone and remotely, Alberta first.

Real estate SEO services start with the pack: why isn't the most-reviewed agent #1?
On 8 September 2026 I pulled the Google map pack for 30 verticals in 31 Alberta towns. Real estate ranks 15th for pack depth: a typical #1 agent has 60 reviews, and no town's wide open.
Yet in 23 towns, #1 isn't the most-reviewed agent: in Calgary, it's 174 reviews against 383 lower down. Reviews don't settle it, and a thin site gives Google little to read.
So the first thing I do on an agent's site is count what Google has indexed against what you've written: IDX pages, neighbourhood pages, expired listings and whether the brokerage name sits in the header or footer. That gap is usually the job.
What do buyers and sellers search before they pick an agent?
Portals take the 60,500 monthly searches for "houses for sale edmonton"; in Edmonton's local search, an agent's site competes for the three below instead. Keywords Everywhere, Canada, 26 Sep 2026.
Agent and town
Sellers and movers search by city. Your homepage and town pages answer it.
Near me
2,900 in January, 8,100 in August 2026: a pack search your site feeds.
Home value
Seller intent, plus 260 for "what is my home worth". One evaluation page, with a tracked request.
Does your site answer these?
Send me the site and I'll list the gaps.
Which real estate SEO services fix the places agent sites leak?
What each fixed-scope service changes on an IDX site. You'll get a list of what I found and what I changed on your WordPress site.
How does one site serve two audiences and expiring listings?
Buyers and sellers convert differently
Buyers book showings or sign up for alerts. Sellers ask what the house is worth. IDX keeps buyers browsing; it doesn't rank the site.
RealEstateAgent, tied to the brokerage
RealEstateAgent with memberOf set to your brokerage, a Person per agent, and RealEstateListing only on live listings. No aggregateRating from testimonials: Google calls that self-serving.
The brokerage name on every page
RECA's guidelines say the contact page alone isn't enough, so I'll put it in the header or footer.
Expired listings come down at once
RECA wants them removed immediately, and an empty page returning 200 is a soft 404. Each gets a 410 or a redirect to its neighbourhood, and leaves the sitemap.
What does RECA expect on every page?
My plain reading of RECA's Real Estate Act Rules and Advertising Guidelines (January 2016), plus CREA's MLS® guidance. It isn't legal advice.
Asked before anything goes live
- Other brokerages' listings, which need written permission
- Team names implying an unlicensed assistant trades (s. 46(4))
- "Search the MLS®": MLS® is a co-operative service, not a database
- Sold prices or photos, which need written consent
Built into every page I touch
- The brokerage name, clearly shown (s. 49(b), 51(1)(c))
- No unauthorised trademark in meta tags or the domain
- A last-updated date on listings and statistics

I won't pass off a rental site as a brokerage result. The nearest sells to guests and owners, as you sell to buyers and sellers.

Twelve others are mature, Calgary and Edmonton among them. In Beaumont and Brooks, #1 has just 3 reviews. That's local SEO for real estate agents work.

Real estate SEO questions, answered
What is SEO in real estate?
Getting an agent's own site found for searches it can win: your name, agent plus town, neighbourhoods and home value. On WordPress, that's mostly IDX and listing hygiene.
Is real estate SEO still worth it in 2026?
For agent plus town, near me and home value, yes: those searches come from people who haven't picked an agent yet. Not for listing searches like "houses for sale edmonton"; portals hold those, and I won't spend your budget there.
Should my IDX listings be indexed by Google?
Not the whole feed: board remarks sit word for word on every agent site. Index the featured and sold listings you've written, with written consent for sold prices or photos.
What schema should a real estate website use?
RealEstateAgent schema linked to your brokerage, a Person per agent, RealEstateListing only while a listing's live, and no self-served stars.
Why does an agent with fewer reviews rank above me?
Reviews aren't the whole score. In 23 of 31 Alberta towns, #1 wasn't the most-reviewed agent. Relevance and distance count, and relevance is your site's job.
How much do real estate SEO services cost?
Mine are fixed-price, with the packages listed on this page, and a team or brokerage running several sites gets a written quote on Upwork. I've also written up how I price SEO work.
How long do real estate SEO services take to show results?
Give on-page fixes four to eight weeks before a first honest review, since each changed page needs a recrawl. The map pack moves slower, and I won't put a date on it. I'd expect the IDX and expired-listing fixes to show first, in Search Console's page indexing report.
What should I ask a real estate SEO consultant before hiring?
Who does the work, how they'll handle IDX and expired listings, whether they know RECA's brokerage-name rule, and whether they're promising rankings. Nobody can. I'm one consultant, so you'll deal with me from the first crawl to the last fix.
