Schema markup consultant for one clean, true WordPress graph

I'm a schema markup consultant for WordPress sites, and on most of them the first job is removing markup, not adding it. Schema won't move rankings on its own. It tells Google, Merchant Center and AI answer engines exactly what your business and products are. Book a call and I'll show you what your pages actually output.

the short answer
$ schema markup consultant ✓ A schema markup consultant makes your WordPress structured data accurate, single and connected, so machines read the business correctly.✓ Schema isn't a ranking factor; it helps understanding and eligibility for the rich results that still exist.✓ The most common fault is two graphs on one page, one from the theme or a plugin and one from the SEO plugin.✓ FAQ rich results stopped showing in Google Search on 7 May 2026, so I don't sell FAQ markup as a rich result tactic.

What does a schema markup consultant do on a WordPress site?

Schema markup is JSON-LD code visitors don't see: this is an Organization with this logo, this page is a Product at this price. Google, Bing, Merchant Center and AI systems read it, and they'll notice when two blocks disagree.

As your schema markup consultant I do three things: find what structured data the site actually outputs, reduce it to one connected graph per page, then add the types each page needs so the markup matches what the business is and what the page shows. It's consulting and implementation in one. You won't get a strategy deck and a bill for somebody else to build it.

// 02 - diagnosis

How would I diagnose this on your site?

This is the order I check it in on a WordPress or WooCommerce site, before changing anything. You'll get the findings back in writing, each tied to a number in your own Search Console.

See my full diagnosis process
  1. i.

    Every JSON-LD block per template

    The rendered source of the homepage, a post, a product and a category shows which plugin printed each graph.

  2. ii.

    Search Console's rich result reports

    Product snippets, Merchant listings and Breadcrumbs show the errors Google already sees, and on how many URLs. A breadcrumb error usually traces back to how breadcrumbs in WordPress were set up in the theme and the SEO plugin.

  3. iii.

    Markup facts against the page

    A price, address or opening hours that differ between markup, page and Business Profile need a single source.

// 03 - the trigger

When should you hire a schema markup consultant?

Most people book schema markup services after something visible breaks, not to add markup for its own sake. These are the four triggers I hear most.

i.

Search Console shows structured data errors

Product snippets, Merchant listings or Breadcrumbs list invalid items, and nobody knows which plugin prints them.

ii.

Google shows the wrong name or logo

A WebSite or Organization node that disagrees with the page is one cause I check, next to the settings behind the wrong favicon or site name in Google.

iii.

You're switching SEO plugins or themes

Yoast, Rank Math and many themes each print a graph, and a switch is the moment two of them run at once.

iv.

A manual action names structured data

Google's manual actions list has a structured data issue type, for markup that's invisible to users, irrelevant or misleading. The markup gets fixed before any review request, which is penalty recovery work.

// 04 - what's still earned

Which types of schema still earn rich results in 2026?

These are the types of schema I implement most, and it's worth knowing where each stands. Eligibility isn't a promise. Google's changelog says FAQ rich results no longer appear in Google Search starting 7 May 2026.

Which types of schema still earn rich results in 2026?
Schema typeWhat it can earnThe condition

BreadcrumbListA breadcrumb path in place of the URLMust match the trail on the page

What does a real client schema graph look like?

This is the business node from the live homepage source of the Alpenglow Fireplace case study, trimmed to the properties that do the work. It's what the page output when I checked it on 28 September 2026, not a template.

What does a real client schema graph look like?
PropertyValue in the live graphWhy it's there

isPartOf and publisherThe #webpage and #organization @idsJoins the business to the page and site nodes, so it's one graph, not a loose block
// 06 - the common fault

Why does your WordPress site have duplicate schema?

Because every layer thinks it's responsible. Themes print microdata, builder add-ons and review widgets print their own blocks, and a schema plugin sits on top of an SEO plugin that already outputs a graph. The result is two Organizations with different logos, or two Products where only one shows the sale price, and it's Google that has to pick.

// 08 - scope

What's in schema markup consulting, and what's left out?

A duplicate graph sometimes sits next to a duplicate hostname, which is duplicate content work, and markup for AI answers ties into AI search readiness. If you'd like to do it yourself, how I add schema to WordPress walks through the plugin filters.

In this service

  • An inventory of every JSON-LD block per template
  • Duplicate graph removal across theme and plugins
  • Organization, LocalBusiness subtype or Person setup
  • Custom types through Yoast or Rank Math filters
  • A written handover your developer can maintain

Not in it

  • FAQ or HowTo markup sold as a rich result tactic
  • Review stars on your own business
  • llms.txt files, which no major AI search engine has said it reads, and which Google Search says it doesn't need
// 09 - after you book

What happens after you book a schema markup consultant?

  1. i.

    Your source, read before the call

    I'll check the homepage, a product or service page and a post, so you'll hear which plugins print what.

  2. ii.

    One source of truth agreed

    Usually the SEO plugin you already run. Everything else printing schema gets switched off or filtered.

  3. iii.

    A quote on Upwork, then the build

    Entity first, page types second, every piece linked into one graph.

  4. iv.

    Validated twice

    The Rich Results Test for eligibility and the Schema Markup Validator for vocabulary errors Google's tool skips.

// questions

What else do people ask about schema markup?

How much does a schema markup consultant cost?

It turns on how many templates print markup and how many plugins are fighting over it, so there's no price listed. You'll see a fixed quote on Upwork once I've read your source.

Is FAQ schema still relevant?

Not for Google rich results. Google's changelog says they no longer appear in Google Search starting 7 May 2026. FAQPage markup still describes a page's questions, but I don't add it expecting anything in Google's listings.

Will schema markup improve my rankings?

Not directly, because it isn't a ranking factor. It helps Google understand the page and decides eligibility for the rich results that still exist, so I report on Search Console's rich result reports and click rate, not on rank.

Can schema markup hurt my website?

Wrong markup can. Fake reviews or prices that don't match the page can lead to a structured data manual action, and duplicate entities do quieter damage.

Should I add a separate schema plugin to Yoast or Rank Math?

Usually not. A second plugin tends to print a second graph, and a missing type is cleaner added through the SEO plugin's own filter.

// from the blog

Start with how I add schema to WordPress so it validates and matches the page, then fixing Product snippet errors without inventing reviews if you run a store, or the wrong site name or favicon in Google if that's what sent you here.

Which type a business needs depends on the business, and the industry pages work it out vertical by vertical, from dental practice SEO and veterinary clinics to chiropractors and physios.

Is your schema saying one clear thing?

Send me the URL. I'll list every graph your theme and plugins print on each template, remove the duplicates and conflicts, and leave one connected graph that matches what's on the page.
