Bright Pathways ABA: ABA therapy SEO case study
610,963 impressions and 6,330 clicks in a quarter, with the brand holding position 1.1.
What does Search Console show for Bright Pathways ABA?
How does an ABA therapy practice get found beyond its own name?
Bright Pathways provides ABA therapy for autistic children across Texas and Colorado. Families don't search for a practice name they haven't heard of. They search for ABA therapy in their town, for what a behavior means, or for whether their state still funds treatment.
So the site has three jobs. Rank in each town it serves. Answer the questions parents ask before they're ready to call anyone. And, because a therapy practice is only as good as its clinicians, reach the BCBAs it needs to hire. Search Console shows all three working, unevenly.
Which pages bring families and clinicians in?
| Page | Clicks | Impressions | CTR | Position |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| / | 934 | 16,299 | 5.73% | 9.9 |
| /exploring-new-career-options-for-bcbas/ | 137 | 8,593 | 1.59% | 7.7 |
| /locations/ | 124 | 9,140 | 1.36% | 31.0 |
| /aba-therapy-in-laredo-texas/ | 119 | 2,144 | 5.55% | 9.6 |
| /four-functions-of-behavior/ | 111 | 45,411 | 0.24% | 9.4 |
| /how-to-become-a-bcba-in-colorado-your-complete-guide/ | 97 | 7,865 | 1.23% | 9.4 |
| /best-autism-programs-in-dallas-a-parents-guide/ | 92 | 27,475 | 0.33% | 11.1 |
| /aba-therapy-in-victoria-texas/ | 67 | 1,202 | 5.57% | 9.2 |
Why do the town pages convert better than the locations hub?
The page for ABA therapy in Laredo, Texas clicks through at 5.55% from position 9.6. Victoria, Texas does 5.57% at 9.2. The site-wide average is 1.04%, so these are five times better, because someone searching 'aba therapy laredo tx' is a parent in Laredo who needs a provider.
The /locations/ hub that links to them ranks at 31.0 and clicks at 1.36%. A hub page is for navigation. It's the town pages underneath it that match what people type.
Why does a guide with 45,411 impressions get only 111 clicks?
The four functions of behavior are a definition, and Google can show a definition on the results page. At position 9.4, the guide is seen constantly and clicked at 0.24%, because a lot of people get what they need without visiting.
That isn't wasted. It puts the practice's name in front of 45,411 searches from parents and students learning about behavior, which is exactly the audience a therapy practice wants to be familiar to. It just doesn't show up as clicks, and this page won't pretend it does.
Why does an ABA site write for BCBAs as well as parents?
A practice can't take more families than its clinicians can see, so the site also has to recruit. The career content does real traffic.
Career options for BCBAs
8,593 impressions and 137 clicks at position 7.7.
How to become a BCBA in Colorado
7,865 impressions at 9.4, a guide for clinicians in a state the practice serves.
'colorado bcba license'
Ranks at 3.2 and clicks at 25%, a high-intent search from someone actively getting licensed.
What does the desktop and mobile split say about ABA searchers?
Desktop brought 400,333 impressions, nearly two thirds of the total, but ranked at 14.1 and clicked at 0.56%. Mobile brought 206,367 at position 9.4 and clicked at 1.94%. The desktop audience skews toward research and study. The mobile audience includes the parent in a car park looking for a provider this week.
| Device | Clicks | Impressions | CTR | Position |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mobile | 3,998 | 206,367 | 1.94% | 9.4 |
| Desktop | 2,253 | 400,333 | 0.56% | 14.1 |
| Tablet | 79 | 4,263 | 1.85% | 9.1 |
What technical SEO is in place, and what still needs fixing?
750 URLs in 4 sitemaps
Location pages, guides and posts are all submitted, and HTTP redirects to HTTPS with a 301.
A thin homepage
151 words, and an H1, 'A new kind of autism care centered on people', that never says ABA therapy. The homepage ranks at 9.9 with room to do better.
Images missing alt text
4 of the homepage's 13 images have no alt text.
Schema that stops at Organization
No MedicalBusiness or LocalBusiness markup tying each clinic to its town, which is the obvious next structured data job.
What does an article about Medicaid funding do for an ABA practice?
The article on why states are cutting Medicaid funding for ABA therapy drew 5,059 impressions and 77 clicks at 9.7. It's not a service page, and it's not meant to be. Coverage is the first worry of most families considering ABA, and a practice that explains the policy plainly is one those families remember when they're ready to book.
It also tells Google the site covers the whole subject, not just its own services, which is part of why a small practice can rank for 'best autism programs in Dallas' at all. That guide drew 27,475 impressions.

What does the Bright Pathways ABA case study teach?
Three things this project shows that apply well beyond this one site, each backed by a number above.
Town pages match what parents type
The Laredo and Victoria city pages click at 5.5% against a 1.04% site average, and they'd be stronger still with LocalBusiness markup and a Google Business Profile for each clinic.
Definitions earn reach, not clicks
The four functions of behavior guide drew 45,411 impressions and 111 clicks, because Google answers a definition on the results page.
Recruiting content is growth content
The BCBA career guides drew over 16,000 impressions, and 'colorado bcba license' clicks at 25% from position 3.2.
Which services did the Bright Pathways ABA project use?
Each one below is backed by the evidence on this page. Open the one that matches your own problem.
What won't this case study claim?
A 1.04% click rate on 610,963 impressions means the great majority of that reach isn't being clicked. Average position 12.5 is the reason: page two gets seen and doesn't get visited. The next job's moving the terms that already have volume onto page one, not finding more impressions.
What do people ask about ABA therapy SEO?
How do ABA therapy providers get more patients from Google?
Town-specific location pages are the strongest lever. Bright Pathways' Laredo and Victoria pages click through at 5.5%, five times its site average, because parents search for ABA therapy in their own town.
Do blog posts help an ABA therapy website rank?
Yes, but mostly as visibility. Bright Pathways' guide on the four functions of behavior drew 45,411 impressions and only 111 clicks, because Google answers the definition on the results page. It builds familiarity rather than bookings.
Why does my site get lots of impressions but few clicks?
Usually because it ranks on page two or for informational queries that Google answers directly. Bright Pathways' desktop traffic ranks at 14.1 and clicks at 0.56%, while mobile ranks at 9.4 and clicks at 1.94%.
What schema should an ABA therapy clinic use?
At minimum Organization, plus MedicalBusiness or LocalBusiness markup for each clinic location with its address and service area. Bright Pathways currently stops at Organization, which is its clearest structured data gap.
Should a therapy practice target clinicians as well as parents?
If it needs to hire, yes. Bright Pathways' BCBA career guides drew over 16,000 impressions, and 'colorado bcba license' ranks at 3.2 with a 25% click rate.
Where do these numbers come from?
Every figure on this page was pulled from sc-domain:brightpathwaysaba.com through the Google Search Console API, over 13 June to 11 September 2026. The tables weren't typed off the screenshot. Where the picture shows a slightly different number, it's because it was captured at a different time from the API pull, so its date range doesn't line up exactly with the window.
The technical details, the schema types, sitemap size, image alt text and redirects, were read off the live site on 15 September 2026. Nothing here is modelled, estimated or averaged across clients, and there's no percentage without the number it's a percentage of.
That's the same technical SEO audit your site would get. You'd see the number that's working and the one that isn't, with the window stated, so you can check it in your own Search Console.
The local SEO checklist I run and what moves a listing up in Google Maps both use this site as their example, and so does checking where a website really ranks. The first two sit with the other local SEO posts.
