Generative engine optimization services that help AI answers cite your WordPress site

When ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI Mode writes an answer, it reads several pages and credits a few. Book a call and I'll show you what the engines say about your business today, then work on being one of those few.

What do generative engine optimization services change?

Generative engine optimization (GEO) is the work of making a business easy to choose and cite when an AI engine writes its own answer from several sources. The engine reads several pages, writes a summary and links a handful; GEO services make sure you're in that handful.

On WordPress I change three things: who the business clearly is, facts nobody else has published, and those facts matching everywhere. Engines retrieve pages from a search index, then weigh other sources: reviews, directories, Reddit and Wikipedia. I'll list off-site mentions that are missing or disagree, since I don't sell link building.

// 02 - diagnosis

How would I diagnose this on your site?

This is the order I check it in on a WordPress or WooCommerce site, before changing anything. You'll get the findings back in writing, each tied to a number in your own Search Console.

See my full diagnosis process
  1. i.

    What engines say about the business now

    The same buyer questions asked logged out, dated, to see which facts are wrong and whose pages get credited.

  2. ii.

    The site against a written fact sheet

    Name, locations and services compared across the About page, footer, author boxes and Organization schema.

  3. iii.

    The pages cited instead of yours

    What a credited competitor page states that yours doesn't, usually a number or a plain verdict.

// 03 - page types

Which of your pages could get cited, and which get skipped?

This is how I decide what's worth rewriting.

Which of your pages could get cited, and which get skipped?
Page typeWhy an engine uses it or passesWhat I change
Head-to-head comparisonIt settles a decision with named attributesA table of real differences and a plain verdict
Original figures pageIt states numbers other pages don't havePublish timelines, job counts or price bands the business holds
Generic service pageIt says what every competitor saysAreas served, what's included and who it doesn't suit
// 04 - definitions

Has GEO replaced SEO, and how does it differ from AEO?

No. SEO gets a page crawled, indexed and ranked, and that's still the base of search visibility. AEO shapes a passage to be lifted as a direct answer; GEO is about being chosen as a source for a longer written answer.

A 2023 paper by researchers at Princeton and IIT Delhi found that statistics, quotations and cited sources made pages more visible in generated answers, so I treat content optimization for GEO as adding facts, not rephrasing. It's also sold as AI search optimization, and crawler access sits on AI search readiness.

// 05 - what gets quoted

Why do comparison pages get picked up more than service pages?

Because they answer with a verdict. On Lux Jewels, the 'Lab diamonds vs natural' page is exactly the kind of page an engine can credit, since it names the options and says who each suits instead of selling at them.

// what gets quoted in numbers
8,092impressions on the comparison page
18.6its average position
// 06 - measurement

How is GEO work measured?

By asking the same dated questions again. Before any change, your buyers' questions go to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI Mode, logged out, and I record which sources each engine credits. Four to eight weeks later the same questions are asked again, and the citations are counted per engine, as a trend, never a promised share of voice.

GA4 referrals from chatgpt.com and perplexity.ai sit beside that sample as a floor, since not every visit passes a referrer.

// 08 - scope

What's in GEO work, and what's not on offer?

Passage structure for AI Overviews belongs to my AEO services, and if a page is too thin to cite, it'll first need thin content pruning.

Included

  • A written fact sheet the whole site is checked against
  • Dated, logged-out answer sampling on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Mode
  • Contradictions fixed across pages, schema and author boxes
  • Comparison and cost pages built on real business facts

Not offered

  • Link building, digital PR or forum posting
  • A promised citation count or share of voice
// 09 - after you book

What happens after you book generative engine optimization services?

  1. i.

    A dated answer sample

    Your buyer questions asked logged out on four engines, so you'll see what they say now.

  2. ii.

    A fact sheet for the business

    Name, locations, services and people written down once, then checked against every page.

  3. iii.

    Scope approved on Upwork

    Contradictions and missing pages listed with a quote before any rewriting starts.

  4. iv.

    The same questions, asked again

    Re-sampled after four to eight weeks, reported as a trend, not a count.

What else do people ask about generative engine optimization?

How much do generative engine optimization services cost?

Scope depends on how many pages contradict each other and what's missing, so there's no price listed. You'll get a quote on Upwork after the first answer sample.

Is GEO a one-time job or ongoing?

Mostly one-time. The fact sheet pass and the page fixes are done once; after that it's the dated re-samples, which you can book when you want the next reading.

Do I need a team for GEO, or will one consultant do?

For the on-site part, one person is enough, and that's what I do, hired through Upwork. Firms that bundle PR and outreach are selling the off-site half, which I don't.

Can you track how often ChatGPT mentions my business?

Only as a sample. The same prompt can change within the hour, so fixed questions on set dates give a trend, and GA4 referrals from chatgpt.com give a floor.

How long before changes show up in AI answers?

I re-sample after four to eight weeks. Engines searching the live web can pick up an indexed page quickly, but answers drawn from training data update far more slowly.

// from the blog

How I measure the traffic ChatGPT actually sends explains why Search Console won't show it, and where I look for it instead in Google Analytics. It sits with the posts on clicks, rankings and AI search.
