Plumber SEO on WordPress
Plumber SEO gets a plumbing company's own site found for the jobs and towns people search, like emergency plumber or drain cleaning plus the city: a page per job, a Business Profile that matches the site, tap-to-call and tickets people can check. I do it on WordPress. In 23 of 31 Alberta towns I measured, the #1 plumber isn't the most reviewed, so plumbing SEO isn't a review race.

Google Business Profile for plumbers: why isn't the most-reviewed plumber #1?
I pulled the plumbing pack in 31 Alberta towns on 8 September 2026. The typical #1 has 100 reviews. Only 12 are mature, led by Edmonton and Calgary at pack medians of 1,200 and 932. Calgary's #1 plumber has 3,500 reviews while a listing lower in the same pack holds 4,800; my page on Calgary SEO for trades has the rest of that city's packs.
In 23 of 31 towns, #1 isn't the most-reviewed plumber there. Google ranks on relevance, distance and prominence. Distance is fixed. Relevance is what your site moves, and it's the part I work on.
Plumbing keyword research, from burst pipes to water heaters: which searches can a site win?
My keyword list for a plumber starts with the job and the town: emergency plumber, drain cleaning, water heater, frozen pipes and gas fitter, each with the city. Three a page can win outside the pack, from Keywords Everywhere, Canada, 26 September 2026:
Emergency calls
480 a month and 1,600 at the October 2025 peak, the priciest click I pulled for plumbing.
Frozen and burst pipes
A freeze page has to be indexed by December. If it's written once the calls start, it's too late.
Drains, water heaters and gas
"gas fitter calgary" draws 260, so people search the ticket itself.

Plumber SEO services and local SEO: what WordPress work sits behind them?
Fixed-scope plumbing SEO services on a plumber's site. Heating's got its own HVAC SEO page.
What does a plumbing site have to do in the first ten seconds?
The phone is the form
Someone with water on the floor won't fill in a form. Put a tap-to-call number above the fold and today's hours in HTML. Say 24/7 only if your profile does.
Plumber markup, one Service per job
Plumber sits under schema.org's HomeAndConstructionBusiness, with a Service per job; that's the core of my schema markup service for trades. No aggregateRating: Google withholds stars for reviews you control.
Tickets Albertans can check
Plumber and Gasfitter are compulsory trades in Alberta: restricted work needs a journeyperson or registered apprentice. Show yours by the call button.
Call tracking that keeps your NAP
The tracking number swaps on the page only. Schema and your profile keep the real one.
What can your plumbing site claim and prove?
My reading of Google's Local Services screening and the Competition Bureau on misleading claims. It isn't legal advice.
Checked with you before it goes live
- Ticket numbers and journeyperson status, as you give them
- "24/7" only if your Business Profile says it too
- Insurance and background-check wording you've confirmed
Built into every page I write
- "From C$X" prices include every mandatory fee but tax (drip pricing)
- No headline the fine print corrects, no countdown that resets
- No door-knocking offer for water heaters: Alberta banned unsolicited door-to-door sales of them from 1 January 2017

The case below isn't a plumber but a gas fireplace service in Washington State. In Edmonton, a tile client ranked 2.5 for grout cleaning and 3.4 for tile repair (Search Console, 30 August 2026).

Seven of them have a #1 under 50 reviews, and Wetaskiwin's pack median is 12. High River's the odd one: one plumber on 168 over a median of 17.

Plumber SEO questions, answered
How do plumbers get more customers from Google?
Through the map pack, organic results and ads. The most-reviewed plumber held #1 in only 8 of 31 Alberta towns I measured, so relevance and the call path matter.
Is SEO worth it for a plumber?
It's worth it where it replaces clicks you'd otherwise buy, like "emergency plumber calgary" at C$21.29. If you already lead your pack, I'll say so.
How long does plumber SEO take?
Give on-page fixes four to eight weeks before a first honest review, since each changed page needs a recrawl. The map pack moves slower, and I won't put a date on it. I measure it in Search Console, on each job page's own searches, not on the site as a whole.
Do citations and links still matter for plumbers?
They back up your Business Profile: the same name, address and phone on every listing, and links from the suppliers, builders and local press you already work with. Google counts buying links for ranking as link spam, so I won't buy them.
Do I need a page for every town I serve?
Only where a town has real demand and you've done jobs there. Otherwise one areas page is fine, and keep your profile's service area within about two hours' drive.
Should a plumber use Local Services Ads or SEO?
Both can run. Google screens Canadian plumbers before those ads show. SEO is what's left when you stop paying for ads.
What should a plumbing website include?
Tap-to-call above the fold, real hours, a page per job and your ticket by the call button. That covers most of what SEO for plumbers needs.
