Med spa SEO on WordPress
Med spa SEO gets an aesthetic clinic found for the treatments people search, like laser hair removal and injectables: a page per treatment, the right Business Profile category and copy inside Health Canada's name, price and quantity rule. I do it on WordPress. In Calgary local search and Edmonton local search, one of the most searched treatments is a prescription drug.

Google Business Profile for med spas: why can a clinic lose its pack to a beauty bar?
I measured Google's map pack for 30 verticals in 31 Alberta towns on 8 September 2026. Med spas came 14th of 30 for review depth, with a median of 72 reviews at #1.
It's a mixed pack. In at least 5 towns, #1 is named as something other than an aesthetics clinic, from beauty bars to a foot care clinic. In 25 of 31, #1 isn't the most-reviewed listing, so your primary category and treatment pages decide which pack you're in. That's where my local SEO services start for a clinic: the category first, then the treatment pages it points to.
Med spa SEO keyword research: why does Alberta search treatments, not med spas?
In Calgary, clients search the treatment far more often than "med spa", and they search its price on its own. Keywords Everywhere, Canada, 26 September 2026. So the keyword list is built treatment by treatment, each with its town and its price, not around the words med spa.
Drug treatment pages
That's four times "med spa calgary" at 590. The page can rank on names, price, quantity and who injects.
Device treatment pages
Nearly five times "med spa calgary". The drug limit doesn't cover lasers, and I haven't verified device rules, so claims go to your counsel.
Price pages
Price is one of three things you may publish about a prescription drug. Don't hide it.
Which treatment pages does your site have?
Send me the URL. I'll list what's there and what's missing.
Which med spa SEO services does a clinic's WordPress site need?
Fixed scope, written for a clinic that injects.
Where does a med spa site differ from other clinic sites?
Name, price, quantity, nothing else
Section C.01.044 limits advertising a prescription drug to the public to those three. Health Canada lists before and after pictures and testimonials as problems too.
The treatment page is what ranks
Product names, price per unit or area, who injects, the consult, aftercare. None of it needs a benefit claim.
A consult booking you can trace
Booking often sits on another domain, and visitors come on phones from Instagram. I tag the click. The form won't ask for medical history.
There's no med spa type
A physician-directed clinic is a MedicalBusiness subtype, MedicalClinic. A non-medical spa is a DaySpa. Match your Business Profile category to it.
What is a med spa page allowed to say?
My reading of Health Canada's guidance, the CPSA standard and the CRNA's injectables advice. It isn't legal advice; your medical director signs off.
Checked with your medical director
- Galleries for laser work: I haven't verified device rules
- Claims of better results than another clinic (CPSA 4(b))
- Review requests: Google bars discounts for reviews (policy)
Built into every page I write
- Drugs named with price and quantity only (C.01.044)
- No testimonials (CPSA 1(i), CRNA) or guarantees (CPSA 1(j))
- No time-limited prices, coupons or "parties" (CPSA 4(c), CRNA)

The nearest is a health practice on WordPress, not a med spa.

Book a call on UpworkIn which 17 Alberta towns is the med spa pack not settled?
Drumheller is wide open: #1 on 12 reviews, nobody above 17. In Okotoks, #1 has 10 while another listing holds 147.
The cities are mature, yet reviews still don't settle them: Edmonton's #1 had 222 reviews while another listing held 1,200. Calgary's #1 has 454, the most in its pack, so there a new clinic starts with treatment and price pages.

Med spa SEO questions, answered
What is medical spa SEO?
The same thing as med spa SEO: getting an aesthetic clinic's own site found for treatment searches in its town. What sets it apart from general SEO is the rulebook: Health Canada's drug advertising limit, CPSA and CRNA rules on testimonials and promotions, and no schema type of its own.
Can a Canadian med spa advertise prescription injectables?
Only its name, price and quantity. Section C.01.044 bars anything more for a prescription drug advertised to the public. It isn't legal advice.
Can a med spa website show before and after photos?
Not for prescription drug treatments: Health Canada lists them as a problem. For laser, I haven't verified the rules, so counsel decides.
Why doesn't my med spa show in the map pack?
It's often in the wrong pack. Google blends day spas, beauty bars and clinics, and your primary category decides where you compete.
How do you market a med spa in Canada?
Start with what the rules allow: a page per treatment with prices and who injects, the right Business Profile category and tracked consult bookings. Skip promos the CPSA and CRNA bar.
Can I run an injectables special or a party night?
No. CPSA rules out time-limited prices, coupons and prizes, and the CRNA names "parties" outright. I'd take those pages down first.
How long does med spa SEO take?
Give on-page fixes four to eight weeks before a first honest review, since each changed page needs a recrawl. The map pack moves slower, and I won't put a date on it. I'd expect treatment pages for searches the pack doesn't own, like a price search, to move first.
Do citations and links help a med spa?
They back up your Business Profile: the clinic's name, address and phone the same on every listing, and links from local press, suppliers and community events you're really part of. Google counts buying links for ranking as link spam, so I don't.
