Core Web Vitals optimization service judged on real visitor data
My Core Web Vitals optimization service fixes the URL groups Search Console marks as failing, one metric at a time, and judges the result on Google's own 28-day field data. Book a call and I'll tell you first whether speed's what's holding you back at all.

What does a Core Web Vitals optimization service include?
A Core Web Vitals optimization service moves the three Core Web Vitals metrics, LCP, INP and CLS, into Google's good range for real visitors on the templates that fail. It isn't a speed score, and it doesn't start with a plugin. It starts with the Core Web Vitals report in Search Console, grouped by device and URL group.
You're hiring one Core Web Vitals consultant who also does the hands-on fixing: I trace each failing metric to the template, plugin or asset behind it, change that, and validate it in Search Console. The work's remote, so a WooCommerce store in Calgary gets the same process as one anywhere else. Hosting and caching aren't part of it; they sit on WordPress speed. If you're still working out why a WordPress site is slow, start there.
How would I diagnose this on your site?
This is the order I check it in on a WordPress or WooCommerce site, before changing anything. You'll get the findings back in writing, each tied to a number in your own Search Console.

The Core Web Vitals report, by device
Which URL groups fail on which metric, and which template the example URL belongs to.
- ii.
Field data for the URL and its origin
Whether the URL has its own 28-day reading, and how far the 75th percentile sits from the line.
- iii.
A throttled Lighthouse trace
The exact LCP element, long task or shifting node, so the fix targets a cause instead of a score.
Failing Core Web Vitals on the pages that earn money?
Book a call on UpworkHow do you pass the Core Web Vitals assessment?
All three metrics must be good at the 75th percentile of visits, and it doesn't take more than one poor metric to fail the whole URL group. Mobile and desktop are graded separately.
| Metric | Good | Poor | Where WordPress usually loses it |
|---|---|---|---|
| LCP, Largest Contentful Paint | 2.5 seconds or less | Over 4 seconds | A lazy loaded hero or a slow uncached server |
| INP, Interaction to Next Paint | 200 milliseconds or less | Over 500 milliseconds | Long tasks from sliders, chat widgets and add to cart scripts |
| CLS, Cumulative Layout Shift | 0.1 or less | Over 0.25 | Images without dimensions and swapping fonts |
Why does PageSpeed Insights pass a page Search Console fails?
The coloured PageSpeed Insights score is one Lighthouse run on emulated hardware. Search Console uses real Chrome visits over 28 days, so it's possible to score 95 and still fail. Field data is what Google uses, and it's what I report against.
How do you optimize Core Web Vitals on WordPress and WooCommerce?
Name the cause first; the fix is often one plugin setting. These are the faults I find most on WordPress, and what I change for each. The metric-by-metric detail is in the blog posts linked under this page.
| Metric | The usual WordPress cause | What I change |
|---|---|---|
| LCP | Sliders, builder backgrounds and optimization plugins lazy loading the hero image | The hero excluded from lazy loading so it's requested first |
| INP | Delay JavaScript settings dumping script cost onto the first tap | Scripts the first tap needs taken off the delay list, heavy widgets loaded later |
| CLS | Images without width and height, ad slots, swapping fonts and notice bars | Space reserved for each element before it loads |
| All three | WP Rocket, Perfmatters and LiteSpeed Cache stacked, each delaying and minifying | One optimization plugin left in charge, the others' overlapping settings turned off |
What are the limitations of Core Web Vitals?
Three metrics can't describe every visit, and each data source has a blind spot I'll account for before quoting.
Only some Chrome visits count
The field data comes from Chrome on desktop and Android, so visits from Safari, Edge or Chrome on an iPhone don't move your reading either way.
Low traffic means no reading
Without enough Chrome visits there's no data to grade, and Search Console shows No data available or folds the page into a group of similar URLs.
A lab run can't record INP
A test that only loads the page taps nothing, so lab tools fall back on Total Blocking Time as a proxy, which is why INP gets diagnosed from field data and traces.
Will passing Core Web Vitals lift your Google rankings?
A little. Google uses Core Web Vitals within page experience and says it doesn't override relevance. I won't sell this as a ranking fix; book it when you're close on relevance, or when a slow checkout's costing sales. If your pages aren't indexed or don't match the search, that's where the budget should go first.
What's in a Core Web Vitals project, and what's a different job?
Builder layouts fall under page builder SEO. None of the case studies here measures speed work, so none's claimed.

What happens after you book the Core Web Vitals optimization service?
- i.
A look at your report first
If Search Console has no field data for you, I'll say your budget's better spent elsewhere.
- ii.
A fixed scope per template
Failing URL groups and templates set it, and you approve it on Upwork.
- iii.
The worst metric first
One metric, one template at a time, so every change ties to its effect.
- iv.
A 28-day validation
CrUX is a rolling window, so results come once Google's data catches up.
What else do people ask about Core Web Vitals?
How much do Core Web Vitals optimization services cost?
It depends on how many templates fail and on which metric, so there's no price here. The scope comes back fixed, on Upwork, after a short call.
How long before Search Console shows the fix?
About a month. CrUX is a rolling 28-day window, so the reading drifts instead of jumping.
Is First Input Delay still a Core Web Vital?
No. FID only timed the first tap's delay. Interaction to Next Paint replaced it in March 2024, and it times responses across the whole visit.
What if Search Console shows no Core Web Vitals data?
Then Google lacks enough Chrome visits to grade you, and content or indexing usually deserve the budget first.
Do I need a Core Web Vitals consultant, or will a plugin do it?
A plugin can pass a site that only needed caching and image compression. When a template still fails after that, someone has to find which element or script is the cause, and that's the part I do.
Each metric fails for its own reasons, so each has its own post: fixing a slow Largest Contentful Paint, finding what slows Interaction to Next Paint and tracking down Cumulative Layout Shift. All three start from the field data real visitors produce, which is where this service starts too, and they sit with the other speed posts.

Failing Core Web Vitals for real visitors?
Send me the URL and read-only Search Console access. I'll start from your failing URL groups, find the one element or script behind the worst metric, and fix that before touching anything else.
