SEO for flooring companies on WordPress
SEO for flooring companies is the work that gets a store or installer found when someone's pricing a floor: cost pages, a page per floor type and town, and a Business Profile that matches the site. I do it on WordPress, and it's a trade I've measured: the typical #1 in 30 Alberta flooring packs has 36 reviews, so your site counts for more.

Why can a smaller flooring store take the pack?
On 8 September 2026 I pulled Google's map pack for 30 verticals across 31 Alberta towns. Flooring ranked 24th of 30 on review depth: the typical #1 has 36 reviews, and in 19 of 30 towns it's under 50. Edmonton's flooring pack isn't in my data.
In 21 towns, #1 isn't the most reviewed: Calgary's has 19 while one below holds 677. That's relevance and the website, and you control both.
Which flooring searches can your own pages win?
Nobody needs a floor in an emergency. Keywords Everywhere, Canada, 26 September 2026.
Price per square foot
Jobs get priced in winter, so a cost page live by January catches the February peak.
Installation pages
It's the priciest click on my flooring and tile list, at C$4.39.
Seasonal pages
It's an autumn job. The page needs indexing by September.

Flooring company SEO: what's the WordPress side?
What each service means on a catalogue site.
How does SEO for flooring companies work, store or installer?
Business Profile, then visits or quotes
Primary category for most of your sales, since a store and an installer aren't the same business, a name without service or town words (Google's rules), and one name, address and phone on every directory. A showroom tracks visits, samples and in-home measures; an installer tracks quotes with room sizes and photos.
A page per floor type, town and cost question
Keywords Everywhere, Canada, September 2026: flooring store near me 8,100 a month, flooring edmonton 1,600, flooring calgary 880, hardwood flooring calgary 590, carpet installation calgary 260, vinyl plank flooring calgary 140. Catalogue imports, on WooCommerce or not, publish thousands of pages of shared copy, so I keep what you stock and what's searched and noindex the rest.
Reviews asked for plainly, prices with the fees in
Send every customer Google's review link after the install, with no discount for it: Google's policy bars incentives and asking only happy customers. The Competition Bureau says advertised prices must include mandatory fees except taxes, so a compulsory fee is in the "from" price.
Store or contractor markup
A showroom fits HomeGoodsStore. There's no flooring type, so installers use HomeAndConstructionBusiness. Product schema markup only goes where there's a real price. Google says AI Overviews need no special optimization, so prices and what you install stay in plain text.
Which prices, stars and badges can a flooring site defend?
My plain reading of the Competition Bureau's drip pricing guidance and Google's rules, 26 September 2026. It isn't legal advice.
Settled with you first
- "From C$X a square foot" prices, fees included
- Star widgets: Google won't show self-served review stars
- Sale headlines: fine print doesn't fix a misleading one
Written into every page
- No Google-verified badge: Local Services has no flooring category in Canada
- A Business Profile name without service or town words (Google's rules)
- No licence claims: flooring isn't a compulsory Alberta trade

The closest is an Edmonton tile firm: 2.5 on grout cleaning edmonton and 3.4 on tile repair edmonton (Search Console, 30 August 2026), searches Keywords Everywhere puts at 10 and 0. At 10.3, tile installation edmonton isn't a win.

SEO for flooring companies: questions, answered
How do flooring companies get more customers online?
Local SEO for flooring companies starts with relevance and the site: in 21 of 30 Alberta towns, #1 isn't the most reviewed. Then cost pages, and galleries that replace thin project posts.
How much should a flooring company spend on SEO?
Weigh it against your click prices. Flooring clicks on my Canadian list cost C$0.68 to C$4.39, so a page earning 200 clicks a month replaces up to about C$878 of ads. My packages are fixed: US$149 for the audit, US$999 for the audit and fixes, or US$299 or US$750 a month.
How long does SEO take for a flooring company?
Plan by season. A changed page needs a recrawl, and Google says crawling can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, so a cost page that's live by January catches the February peak. No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google, and I won't.
Should a flooring store put its whole catalogue online?
Only what you stock and can write about. Index what's searched; noindex or merge the rest.
How much do reviews matter for a flooring company?
Less than in 23 of the 30 verticals I measured: Alberta's median #1 flooring listing holds 36 reviews, a dentist's 441.
Can a flooring company use Google Local Services Ads in Canada?
Not as of 26 September 2026. None of Google's 17 Canadian categories is flooring.
Is social media or SEO better for a flooring business?
Different jobs in flooring marketing: social shows the work, search catches the purchase. Flooring clicks on my Canadian list cost C$0.68 to C$4.39, so I'll show where SEO beats paying.
