Insurance broker SEO on WordPress
Insurance broker SEO is the work that gets a brokerage found when Albertans search the cover they need, auto, home, tenant or business, before they search a broker's name. I do it on WordPress, alone and remotely. Three names lead 17 of 31 town packs, so I build a page per product line and real branch, plus Care-First-ready auto pages.

Why does an independent broker lose to the networks?
I recorded the insurance map pack in 31 Alberta towns on 8 September 2026. The median #1 has 109 reviews, and it's still 109 without Calgary and Edmonton, so small towns aren't easier. Edmonton's own pack runs to a 2,600-review profile; the Edmonton SEO page has it.
Three names lead 17 packs, which I read as networks. Yet Calgary's #1 had 15 reviews beside a 2,500-review profile, and in 20 towns #1 isn't the most reviewed. The website still counts.
Why do Albertans search the product before the broker?
People type the cover before the broker, so each line needs a page. Keywords Everywhere, Canada, 26 September 2026.
Auto insurance
Half again the 8,100 for insurance broker near me, and due a Care-First rewrite.
Tenant insurance
It ran 14,800 to 27,100 a month over the year. A Personal Insurance page can't target it.
Commercial lines
Only 210 searches a month, but the costliest click here, so it pays on value.
Which lines does your site cover?

What do I fix on an insurance broker's WordPress site?
Insurance agency SEO in fixed-scope pieces, for a brokerage.
How does insurance broker SEO work against the insurers and banks?
Pages the insurers and banks can't write
On 28 September 2026 Google's Canadian top 10 for "car insurance alberta" held two brokerages' Alberta pages, a national brokerage at #1 and another at #5, beside insurers, a motor club, the province, a rate board directory, a bank's insurance arm and Reddit. "tenant insurance" was insurers, banks and a retail bank's insurance agency, plus one housing provider's explainer, with no independent brokerage and no comparison site. A broker gets in with pages they don't write: Alberta-specific, one per line and branch, and dated for Care-First on 1 January 2027.
A quote path, a client path, and numbers you can read
New visitors want a quote form; clients want claims numbers and pink cards. I count finished quotes, not form views, and read Search Console by product line, so you'll see which line's page earns quotes and which only earns clicks.
Every premium claim carries its conditions
The GIC Code calls advertising a premium with undisclosed requirements misconduct, so a "save up to" banner shows its conditions or doesn't go up. Quote follow-up emails fall under CASL: ISED says implied consent may last up to 2 years, or just 6 months after an inquiry, and each message carries your business name, a mailing address and an unsubscribe.
InsuranceAgency per branch, reviews asked for
The schema.org InsuranceAgency type, one node per real branch, and no aggregateRating: Google won't show stars for reviews you control. Ask every client for a review with Google's link, never for a discount (Google's policy). Google says AI Overviews need no special optimization, so coverage basics go in plain text.
What can your brokerage website advertise?
How I read the Alberta Insurance Council's General Insurance Council Code of Conduct (May 2011). It isn't legal advice.
Read through with you before launch
- Every "save up to" or "lowest premium" banner and its conditions
- "Guaranteed" wording, which needs qualification or evidence (5.3.9)
- Broker bios, with licences you can confirm on the agent lookup
Built into every page I write
- No advertising that's misleading or unnecessarily confusing (5.3.8)
- No price or product that can't be provided or hides its qualifications (8.3.4)
- Coverage explained generally, never as policy advice

I won't dress another trade's numbers up as insurance. The closest is a health practice in a regulated field.

Banff's the only wide-open pack, its top broker on 20 reviews. Beaumont's #1 holds 294 over a median of 9, so the rest isn't settled.

Insurance broker SEO questions, answered
What are the best SEO keywords for an insurance broker?
Product and town searches: car insurance alberta drew 12,100 a month in Canada, insurance broker calgary 3,600. Your name comes later.
How long does SEO take for an insurance broker?
A changed page needs a recrawl, and Google says crawling can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. Care-First pages have a fixed deadline, 1 January 2027, so they're the ones I'd start first. No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google, and I won't.
Can I use the free website content my carrier or vendor provides?
You can, but it's unlikely to rank. The same paragraphs sit on many broker sites, and Google usually shows one version.
Do I need a separate page for auto, home and tenant insurance?
Yes. Tenant insurance drew 22,200 searches a month Canada-wide, home insurance alberta 1,600. One Personal Insurance page can't target both, so each gets a page under a linked product-line hub.
Should each branch have its own Google Business Profile?
Each real, staffed branch, yes, with its own page. That's the core of local SEO for insurance agents. No branch, no cloned town page.
How will Care-First change my auto insurance pages?
From 1 January 2027, Care-First lets an injured Albertan sue only if the at-fault driver's found guilty of certain serious offences. Today's pages won't hold, so I'd rewrite or retire them first.
How do I choose an insurance SEO consultant?
Ask to see Search Console from their own work, a fixed scope in writing, and whether they'll read your copy against the GIC Code. Google's own advice is that no one can guarantee a #1 ranking, so walk away from anyone who does.
